You Can Fight For Your Country

You can fight for your Country it does seem to me
By fighting for the right to life of every tree
And every bush and shrub and every hedgerow
To your Country this much is what you do owe.

You are not fighting for your Country by discharging your gun
In Some distant Land at another woman's son
Of someone you've never met or never will know
How can you make of such a person a foe.

You can help your Country by helping one of help in need
And for your own good karma you plant the good seed
And treat those different to you in a respectful way
And try to perform one good deed every day.

You are your Country's hero when you are Nature's friend
When for her flora that supports her fauna you fight to defend
Though the last post for you it will never be played
And for you there never will be a parade.
