His promise to her she remembers with the ache of lost love in her heart
He vowed he would stay faithful to her and from her he never would part
She raises the son he has fathered today is his seventh birthday
The father he doesn't remember from them he now lives far away
Her memories of love far from pleasant and to her not a source of joy
He went off with another woman and left her to raise their baby boy
Some men turn out to be unfaithful they only flatter to deceive
He told her that he loved her truly and of course him she did believe
He is not the first or he won't be the last one to treat a woman in this way
Though most men to their wives are faithful that does seem a fair thing to say
He never paid her any alimony and to help raise his son any money never did give
She has not seen or heard of him since he left her and she does not even know where he live
Today is her son's seventh birthday her brown eyed boy with dark brown hair
But his absent father won't pay him a visit for some life can seem so unfair.
