We do miss her kind and her beautiful face
And without her the neighbourhood a sadder place
Gillian was fit and healthy for one of seventy three
But last week of heart failure she died suddenly
Her husband Bill at seventy died four years ago
Ill for three years with cancer his death painful and slow
But Gillian she nursed him right up till his end
She was his good wife and his devoted friend
But with typical bravery she accepted her loss
Though life it had dealt to her a heavy cross
Five times a grand-mother and though her better days gone
She loved and enjoyed life and wanted to live on
A beautiful Person to know and to meet
Dear Gillian the loveliest one on our street.
