I'm Living Far South

I'm living far south of my old home today
From here Claraghatlea is many miles away
Where the Cails from Kippagh does babble on down
To join with the Finnow a mile from Millstreet Town
Many old friends in the flesh I will never more see
But a Claraghatlea fellow is all I can be
When the cold winds of December through the fields did blow
And Clara was wearing his white hat of snow
My life changing journey to the south began
But at heart I remain as a Claraghatlea man
Many people I knew I will not see again
But the waterways, the woods and the fields do remain
And in fancy I hear the caw of the gray crow
Where the Cails and Finnow to the Blackwater flow.
