In the late October sunshine golden blossoms on the broom
And the paddock looking yellow where the capeweed are in bloom
On the wattles by the river the shrike thrush is on song
His flute like notes familiar one could never get him wrong
The coastal breeze is so refreshing blowing inland from the bay
In the afternoon Spring sun shine it is such a lovely day
So much beauty around us to talk of and admire
And of singing Nature's praises I for one could never tire
In more than sixty years of living I've seen many Seasons come and go
Yet in my sheer awe of Nature my wonder only grow
I know so little of her ways yet I have come to realize
That in Nature for me every day there is some new surprise
There is warmth in the sunshine and a cool freshness in the coastal breeze
And the nesting birds chirping and singing on the bushes and the trees.
