He Will Never Be Australia's P M Now (2000)

No friend of the Aussie workers he gave the trade unions hell
And those who judge will too be judged as we all know too well
And the ruthless minister Peter Reith has sounded his own political death knell
He will never be Australia's Prime Minister now on his own sword he fell.

For his fifty thousand mobile phone bill the tax payers did pay
He gave the pin number to his son or so Peter did say
And his son who lives in London more than half a world away
Must have been talking to his dad for hours on end each day.

He says he will pay the money back though for Peter now too late
For his misuse of the peoples cash he has sealed his own fate
The trade unions will have the last laugh and the last laugh is sweet
He has ruined his chance of the Prime Minister job the humbled Mr Reith.

The trade unions will have the last laugh and his own words he must eat
He has left himself and his party down the so called moralist Mr Reith
A headkicker for the government but now that he is down
His opponents in the parliament laugh as if he were a clown.

Those who don't give sympathy can't expect none and that's how it ought to be
And Peter Reith the arrogant one can't expect any sympathy
From the people who paid his huge bill and a bit late for him to say
That the money that I owe to you I now ought to repay.
