Young Stuart the plumber he is in his twenties
And he is quite good at the work he do
And at the weekends with his mates he party
And he doesn't seem to mind a beer or two.

Young Stuart doesn't seem to like it in Victoria
Though near Melbourne he first saw light of day
He says that he is going back to the Northlands
To the wild lands near Darwin far away.

He likes the tropics of the Northern Territory
Despite his fair skin, blue eyes and blond hair
And one might have thought that he'd like the cooler climate
But Stuart is one who could live anywhere.

Young Stuart the plumber he's your regular Aussie
And he is humorous in his quiet sort of way
He likes to talk of his northern adventures
And one has to laugh at some of the things he say.

Young Stuart the plumber would not be in Victoria
Except that his road worn car has broken down
But as soon as the problem's fixed he will be leaving
And driving north from old Wonthaggi Town.
