I'm a stranger in Australia and Aussies look on me as strange
And like one on desert Island I feel way, way out of range
They don't understand my accent and ask me to speak more slow
We don't understand you matey, where you come from, where you go?
I'm a stranger in Australia in the southern hemisphere
And I feel a bit embarrassed when they ask me speak more clear
And it goes to show some Irish do not speak the language good
Even in English speaking countries what we say not understood.
I'm a stranger in Australia and I've been made to feel that way
And I don't speak English that good they don't catch the words I say
So I keep to myself mostly that's not hard to understand
As we speak a different language in the boglands of Ireland.
