Scousy And Eugene

Since Lisa left old Bayview Road a lot of world she's seen
And I recall her dog and cat brown Scousy and black Eugene
She took them fruit picking with her to New South Wales Wayne Thornbury drove them in his car
A seven hours drive at the least in distance that seems far.

When I asked Lisa what happened to her pets she said she'd rather not say
But another told me that they are not alive and well today
That due to her circumstance and such by the vet they were put down
And that their bones now resting far from Belgrave their Hometown.

That Lisa loved her animals had never been in doubt
But cats and dogs not ideal pets for those who like to move about
And decades from now she will recall when she look back the years
Her big brown dog and black male cat and stifle back her tears.

In the Dandenong Ranges she had no desire to stay
And it has to be eight years ago since Lisa went away
From the home of Puffing Billy where the gums reach towards the sky
She took her cat and dog with her and bid us all goodbye.

Since Lisa left the wooded hills a lot of world she's seen
And with her she took her animals brown Scousy and black Eugene
And when I asked her what happened to them I'd rather not say was her reply
Still she'll recall her dog and cat until the day she die.
