Go And Have A Good Time Jean

Go and have a good time Jean
For life is short or so 'twould seem
And enjoy yourself as well you may
For time so quickly ticks away.

And about your age no need to fret
As you've got lots of good years yet
Though 43 the years roll by
You've still got much life to enjoy.

And you have had no easy life
For long years you have been good wife
And from your husband forced to part
Oh pity you poor suffering heart.

And despite all that you've been through
You plan once more to start anew
And you'll give marriage one more try
And that's your spirit never say die.

Gentle woman of Sturt Street
Free of guile and vile conceit
Though I'm not sorry that we've met
You'll not prove easy to forget.

I've never met one quite like you
And though I love you yes I do
I come from foot of social tree
And you seem far too good for me.

And you deserve a better man
And you will find him bet you can
A true love and a life long friend
And one who'll love you till the end.

And you'll forgive me if I quote
These lines from Wordsworth that great poet,
He wrote 'She was a phanthom of delight
When first she gleamed upon my sight'.

And Jean to you those words apply
And knowing you to me a joy
And true love makes the heart bells ring
And love true love's a wondrous thing.

So go and have a good time Jean
And drink your fill of dizzy dreams
And let the world and cares go by
As life is there for to enjoy.
