Each Time I Hear A Chainsaw

Each time I hear a chainsaw in my mind's eye I can see
The felling and dismembering of yet another tree
One less tree for birds to perch and sing on and sleep and build a nest
And one less tree for climbing animals to feed upon and rest
The monotonous buzz of a chainsaw to where I am standing near
Is another human created noise I'd prefer not to hear
Though I too have used chainsaws that I will not deny
And hypocrisy in this instance to me too must apply
To Nature trees are precious and with the greenies I only can agree
That Nature's Wildborn creatures need every bush and tree
Yet many species of Wildlife on the endangered list and many creatures rare
And like us they have a right to life of which we should feel aware
I too have worked with chainsaws that I cannot deny
And the damning word of hypocrite to me too must apply.
