The roads of life I have journeyed up and down
Since I left Claragahatlea a mile from Millstreet Town
But in my flights of fancy the past comes to me
And remembered faces again I do see
Like me many of them live far from Millstreet
And in fancy them nowadays I only do meet
But the clock on our lives ever keeps ticking fast
And only in memory we can go to the past
The memory of laughter a thing of delight
In the pubs of the Town they are dancing tonight
Con D and Cassidy with their wives take the floor
And the band it plays on to another encore
And though I never may drink with my old mates again
Fond memories of them to this day I retain.
