When One Talks Of County Armagh

When one talks of county Armagh I think of John Tarrant's wife Eileen
And the wildering flowers that bloom in spring by unpolluted stream
And rain and wind and showers of hail and sunshine in between
And a County fresh and beautiful in a Land that's evergreen.

When one talks of County Armagh, I think of the road bowl playing man
The great bowler McPartland, the one and only Dan
The former All Ireland champion and I can still recall
His great duels with Mick Barry from Cork and Waterfall.

When one talks of County Armagh, what comes to memory?
Saint Patrick and the shamrock and Irish history
And Brian Boru the warrior no braver man than he
The battle of Clontarf in 1014 his greatest victory.

When one talks of County Armagh what readily comes to mind
The Irishness and friendliness of a people good and kind
The warmth in their greeting and their hospitality
If you visit Armagh person's house you won't leave without tea.
