Dear Karen I'm writing to thank you for all that you have done for me
And your job is harder than most jobs are as many would tend to agree
You've encouraged me to do better of life I had started to tire
And I found you very inspiring and I'm a hard one to inspire.
We live in a judgemental world of which I am all too aware
And the human jungle is a rat race and the meanest rats seem to thrive there
Of mean spirited people too many and of the good and kind hearted too few
And I've known a handful of honorable people and one of them Karen is you.
We live in a negative society with a negative government who seek to divide
You are damned if you work for low wages and damned if you are unemployed
I feel that big brother is watching and in our lives he has too much say
But you are one of the good Karen and I've always found you okay.
Since I've left those northern mountains so many hard roads I've been down
And I've worked with all different races and I've lived in many a town
And there's good and bad in all races who first spoke those words spoke so true
And I've known some kind hearted people and one of those Karen is you.
I feel that you'd make a good social worker in you there is a caring streak
But sad to think that the kind hearted by the ruthless are seen to be weak
But keep up your good work dear Karen and karma to you will be kind
And do believe me when I tell you that your equals are hard to find.
Goodbye Karen it was nice knowing you and to say farewell cause me regret
But you are one I will remember and people like you one doesn't forget,
You encouraged me in no small way and for me did all that one could do
And for that to you I feel indebted and I'll have good memories of you.
