The Winds Of Climate Change

The winds of climate change across the landscape blowing and drinking every drop of moisture from the ground
The creek of the foothills is no longer flowing where once was a babble the silence is profound
Last week for a day it did rain rather heavily but a full day's rain was not nearly enough
The farmers their breeding sheep and cows are selling one can say that times on them are rather tough
The winds of climate change are blowing and the creeks for miles around are dead
And weeks of dry and sunny weather of the Summer and the early fall ahead
Still in late Spring in latter November today a high of thirty degrees
The hard earth drained of all of it's moisture by the warm southern breeze
'Tis said the polar ice caps are melting as the sea levels they commence to rise
In our abuse of our environment and Nature one might say we've not acted wise
Politicians talk of the economy and the advice of environmentalists ignore
We can become the cause of our own extinction and extinction is forever more
The winds of change across the landscape is blowing and thirsty el nino is lurking around
He sucks the drains, the creeks and the dams dry and every drop of moisture from the ground.
