The Shearers Are Back

From Southern New South Wales they they have worked their way down
The shearers are back in the old country town
They work in the shearing sheds in the heat of the day
And earn their living in the hardest way
At night in the pub as they enjoy their beer
The local single young women join them in the cheer
Of their travels they have many stories to tell
Hard workers and hard drinkers and great lovers as well
The Publican has a big smile on his face
The shearers make his pub a busier place
They spend heaps of money and drink all night long
And the bar-room resound to laughter and song
The Publican is smiling and all with him is okay
When the shearers are drinking their hard earned pay.
