Just Another Mortal

The great leader died under gun-fire in an instant the life from him gone
The people of the Nation mourn his passing but without him life has to go on
Great statues are built in his honour a hero for the centuries ahead
But honour to him now is of no value since honour does not bring back the dead.

The one who killed him shot to death by the police for the karma he did sow he did pay
An act of violence only leads to more violence that's life as some are known to say
Guns in the wrong hands can be lethal they are not toys with which to play
Without guns the World would be better and safer to live in today.

The great leader mourned by many a victim of the foulest crime
But nothing can change what has happened their tears for him a waste of time
Done to death by one unstable one troubled of soul and of mind
For to harm the celebrated his type too often inclined.

The great leader is now deceased in Nature's bosom his remains decay
His life it was taken from him in the foulest sort of a way
Tears do not bring back the departed life it goes on as before
He was just another mortal after all and nothing more.
