I hail from the land of the gray hooded crow
Where Araglen and Finnow to the Blackwater flow
Through green old Duhallow on it's way to the sea
When i visualize such great beauty i see.
In fancy i hear the babble of the rill
Where it flows forever down the fields by the hill
The water is gurgling in the roadside drain
And the chaffinch he sings in the wind and the rain.
A migrant in the land of wombat and roo
Koala, rosella the black and the white cockatoo
My Homeland from here far north and far away
In this great Southern Country i may live my last day.
Though it is many Seasons since i last lived there
I hail from the land of the badger and hare
And the pipe of the curlew i fancy i hear
Above the brown bog in the Spring of the year.
