You do not find god in money and god does not live on the trees
And 'tis not god's laughter that you hear in the freshening evening breeze
Old homeless Joe is happy though he's not free of sin
But he'll show you where god is he has his god within,
Maybe he's not flawless but quite honest enough
He knows of the hard life and he lives it rough
Out in all weather in sun wind and rain
Yet of his hard life he never complain
He is not religious or a living saint
Nor is he one without blemish or taint
Crosses in life he's been given to bear
Yet he is one who is not burdened by care
Searching for thrown out food in rubbish bin
Homeless old Joe one who has god within.
