We Only Can Live For Today

We cannot look into the future in our destiny we do not have a say
And as for the past well that is gone forever we only can live for today
Next week we may be with the reaper in life there is no guarantee
We live on a day to day basis though many with that would never agree.

Take care of thyself the unwritten commandment is the one that to some does appeal
In their climb up the social ladder some they cheat and they lie and they steal,
They even steal from the financial battlers those who struggle for to make ends meet
They yearn to be wealthy and famous if even by means of deceit.

And nothing in life it does seem fair in a World of inequality
So many live on a low income and so many live in poverty
A very old saying from my Schooldays and one that I always recall
Is you must take good care of yourself and God will take care of us all.

We only can live in the present the future seems too far ahead
So live clean and try to be happy since we will be forever dead
I do not care if I am cremated or my bones in some cemetery lay
I just want to live in the present and I will make the most of today.
