Old Sandy Point

As near as you'll find to an Earthly Utopia is Sandy Point the Village by the sea
Where even in the very depths of Winter the magpie flutes upon a coastal tree
And 12 to 20 degrees the temperature from May to September and Spring and Summer warmer by at least ten degrees
And the warm day grow cooler in the evening and birds pipe in the freshening sea breeze.

Old Sandy Point sketched by famous artists and it has inspired the Gippsland poets to rhyme
Where the Indigenous tribes had their Corroborees on the beach in pre pioneering days in the long gone Dreamtime
The Tribes long gone but their spirits will live forever one sense their presence though them one can't see
And 'tis a fact that always is worth noting that this Southern Land has a black history.

Old Sandy Point a jewel of South Gippsland it has a charm of it's very own
And never busy even in the Summer much more common places are far better known
As near as you'll get to an Earthly Utopia and places such as it nowadays are rare
I know of places that are far more famous but for beauty with it they do not compare.
