Some Men On Growing Older

Billions of love poems have been written in blank verse and rhyme
Though so few of them have survived the passage of time
And words like I love you are so easily said
Though 'tis not very often that the heart rules the head.

I know one in his sixties his girlfriend is younger than his grandson
His life journey close to ending and her's has just begun
With a dark brown hair dye he covers his gray
And he is convinced she loves him that's life one might say.

His beautiful girl friend in her glorious prime
And he a grandfather losing out to time
But he is one with heaps of money to spend
And the financially well off are never short of a friend.

When she tells him she loves him her he believe
But people for money are known to deceive
Just for to be with her he left his ageing wife
Some men on growing older do not learn from life.
