He is in his mid forties and well past his prime
The greying and balding Donny known as the Man of Rhyme
In the Pub to his mates his verses he recite
And they always applaud him much to his delight.
His wife Karen has left him with their Primary School going daughter and son
She lost him to rhyming she tells everyone
From work to the pub and then rhyming till late
How could a man like him become her soul mate?
He visualizes himself as a World renowned Poet
In the Literary World a fellow of note
His mates like his verses though they hardly could tell
The difference between poetry and doggerel.
Still their praise is a big boost to his self esteem
And he is one who has penned rhyme by the ream
When his day's work is finished and with drinking he's done
He stays up and pens rhyme till the small hours of one.
One day I'll be famous to himself he say
And my poems will be read in Countries far away
By lovers of poetry I will know wealth and fame
And mine will be a renowned Literary name.
The Man of Rhyme Donny is quite a nice man
But to work till he is old for a living is not in his plan
He believes that through his poetry he'll know World wide renown
And he will become the wealthiest man in the town.
