The Scottish

Just like their blue eyed ancestors from Normandy in France
The Scottish love a hearty laugh and they love to sing and dance
And the Scottish are a happy lot and a good natured Race
And the ups and downs of living life they are known to embrace.

The Scottish like to have a drink and life they do enjoy
And 'tis even said when they do grieve that laughter is nearby
Their accent 'tis like a birthmark 'tis with them for to stay
Though from the shores of old Scotland they travel far away.

I was at a Scottish Festival last year in October in the Spring
the children of the migrant Scots they danced the Highland Fling
The bagpipers in their tartan kilts they bagpiped up and down
The Streets to rounds of loud applause of the old Country Town

Of their place in Human history they cannot be denied
The Scottish are a renowned race they are known Worldwide
In their music and their literature they've made for themselves a name
One can say of the Scottish that their's is an immortal fame.

In any foreign City or Town as you walk down the street
One from Scotland in Britain's north you are likely to meet
Their accent is a give away the moment they say hello
Their Nationality you don't have to guess you already do know
