The stressed mother donkey she brayed to her foal
The poor creature was stuck in a muddy hole
But the more that she struggled the more she got stuck
And she needed help and a good deal of luck.
A truck driver and his offsider were passing on the roadway
They see the bogged foal the driver to his mate did say
That poor little donkey our help surely need
We have our chance here for to do a good deed.
They stopped and from the truck cabin brought with them a rope
And walked down through the paddock that had a slight slope
To the muddy hole where the foal struggled in vain
Without help he'd die there a slow death of pain.
Around the foal's neck in the form of a lasso
The blue nylon rope the young truck driver threw
And he and his offsider dragged the donkey foal out
And safe on dry ground from exhaustion she tottered about.
The uninjured young one she made a quick revcovery
And the mother was happy to see her foal free
Of the muddy hole as the men walked to the roadway
Quite satisfied at their good deed of the day.
