Each One

Each one for themselves that goes for one and all
And before the child walks the child first has to crawl
And few wish to know the poor pauper as he limps down the street
On ill fitting shoes that are crippling his feet.

This world of winners and losers is hard to live in
When all of the glory goes to those who win
We admire those who dress in expensive clothes
In the World of materialism that's life I suppose.

Each one for themselves in the human rat race
And much always wants more it is always the case
And by good example I'm not one to lead
Since I am not one that's untainted by greed.

Today on this Planet could be my last day
And each one for her or himself it has to be this way
In a World of corruption compassion is rare
And too few about others who bother to care.

Each one for him or herself that's how 'twill remain
For as long as we look at life only for our own gain
For each wealthy individual thousands in poverty
And for good example you don't point to me.
