The Dysfunctional Pair

Old Bucko is not very happy of late
The World and it's people he professes to hate
He is always at odds with old Quidzo his wife
A good screaming match to them is just part of life.

They live on together this dysfunctional pair
And plenty in common they do seem to share
Two grumpy ageing people each other they need
In the case for dysfunctionality by example they lead.

Too cynical for compassion or humor or tears
The words 'I love you' have not passed between them for years
And kind words between them one never does hear
Such as 'how are you feeling' or 'I love you dear'

At McDonalds together they sit and drink coffee and eat french fries
And with others they never choose to socialize
At anyone they never do seem to smile
At least in their hearts there is no room for guile.

One can say of their marriage there is little right
Together they live and with each other they fight
But one might say some common ground they seem to share
Bucko and Quidzo the dysfunctional pair.
