What Matter If

What matter if your name lives on in history
Or you are one condemned to posterity
When your life will be over it will not matter to you then
If none to write of you does take up the pen
There should be more to life than living for self wealth and fame
Of worthy causes worth supporting so many one could name
Like helping poor people who of help are in need
Why is it of the self serving we mostly do read?
In magazines and newspapers and it does seem sad to say
That there are billions of forgotten people in the World of today
People robbed of their self esteem and their sense of pride
When what should be their right a fair go to them is denied
But when all is said and done it will not matter at all
To you when you die if others your name do not recall.
