It was with pride he wore the Millstreet green
But in Millstreet Town he will never more be seen
Teddy kelleher's remains are in the U S A
From old Duhallow many miles away.
I was a boy when he was in his prime
In retrospect that is going back in time
A hero of Millstreet Gaelic Football
His skills and sportsmanship are worthy of recall.
Never found to be wanting when put to the test
Teddy Kelleher he was one of Millstreet's best
When called upon he never left us down
He was a legend of old Millstreet Town.
For each of us there is a common fate
His was a name we used to celebrate
A gentleman untainted by conceit
He lived his last days distant from Millstreet.
'Tis with fondness we remember him today
For Millstreet many great games he did play
But far from The Bridge his last remains do lay
He met with the reaper in the U S A.
