To be wealthy, famous and successful would be most people's choice
But on success and achievement there can be a price
Take for one Robert Kennedy one who knew of wealth, power and fame
Perhaps he would have been as well off without a cent to his name.
Gunned down at the Ambassador Hotel of his wounds he died
His gift of life to him by a mad man denied
One who may have been destined for greatness but it does seem sad to say
That for his ambitions with his life he did pay.
The difference in him from other politicians was not hard to note
He quoted from the great philosophers and many a legendary Greek poet
But one crazed individual to him took offense
That's life as some say though sometimes life doesn't make sense.
To be wealthy, famous and successful known to be good for self esteem
But for such the price too high for some it would seem
Like the great Robert Kennedy in his forties gunned down
The one who stood on the threshold of renown.
