The Middle Class Snob

Her husband a teller in the big city bank
And the middle class snob she craves social rank
Her dream is he will be manager one day
A man of influence with a huge take home pay.

Their only child a girl is at university
And studying for her architectural degree
And the middle class snob feels quite pleased to say
My daughter will be very wealthy one day.

But of Nature and it's workings so little she know
She thinks that the currawong some sort of crow
And she thinks that the wood louse is a breed of ant
One might say her knowledge in Nature is scant.

The middle class snob use her words with such care
And she seems quite shocked if she hear some one swear
And with other social climbers she socialize
And down to earth people are rough in her eyes.

The middle class snob is a middle class wife
And to her wealth and social status are the best things in life
And all of her friends are as snobby as she
As they climb towards the top of the high social tree.
