He will always feel a stranger in the unwelcoming town
But this will not be his launching pad to great things and renown
He will move to the city where he can feel more free
Of the suspicion of strangers a part of small town snobbery.
He has no wish to become part of the local community
Like joining the local football club or any town committee
His future will be elsewhere here his will be a brief stay
The big city is a three hours drive from here down the highway.
He plans to make a fresh start in a more populated place
Where he doesn't feel that his is seen as an unwelcome face
When he walks down the suburban street others at him will not stare
It is a different World in the bigger World out there.
He came here from another town but here he will not remain
When the opportunity presents itself he will be on the road again
This for him will not be a launching pad to greater things or any small town nearby
He feels if you gobble with the turkeys with the eagles you cannot fly.
