Another warm day in the height of Summer and even warmth in the freshening breeze
And no talk of a cool change in the weather forecast a high today of 32 degrees
El Nino is around the thirsty fellow sucking up every drop of moisture he can find
The water levels in the town reservoir are steadily dropping and everywhere dried out from sun and wind
The heavy thundery showers over the weekend one would not notice and everywhere is looking very dry
And the last few days have been so warm and windy and not one rain cloud in the clear morning sky,
A few weeks of rain have never been more wanting the local farmers have been praying for rain
Their livestock thin their water dams are almost empty for them a time of great financial pain
The paddocks have never looked browner or barer sheep shelter from the sun in the shade of a gum tree
In this the greatest drought in weather records nothing like this in living memory
The World is warming up and getting drier and drought has left the landscape brown and bare
The old bloke says the driest he can remember and he is looking far the worst for wear
Another warm day in the height of Summer and the water dam has never been so low
The drains bone dry and the creek it has stopped flowing and the river only in a trickle flow.
