Goodbye To The Hard Working Fellow

Goodbye to the hard working fellow he worked hard in his working life
He now rests in the town graveyard in the grave he shares with his wife
They had their rows, raised seven children but together in peace they now lay
Their grandchildren now have young children and life it goes on as they say.

He never read Burns or Shakespeare he was not inclined in that way
But he went to the local and enjoyed his beer right up till his life's second last day
He was one who loved to talk footy a long time member of the Local Football Club
And he will be missed by all of his mates who frequent his old favourite pub.

Goodbye to the hard working fellow he was a tough crusty old bloke
He was rather fond of his liquor and cigarettes he used to smoke
He will never more be seen walking his blue heeler in sunshine or in wind or in rain
With the many locals who knew him fond memories of him will remain.

Goodbye to the hard working fellow he was on his feet till his end
Though in life he made a few enemies of many he did make a friend
And may he rest in peace forever his seed does live on in the town
And though he was not World famous he did know of some local renown.
