The only god I know is a green she
And everywhere her beauty I can see
A flowery dress of green she often wear
And she has flowers and roses in her hair.
In her leafy Woodlands her feathered minstrels sing
And on her trees build their nests in the Spring
And I hear her whispering in the mountain rill
As to the river she flows down the hill.
Whilst some others pray to gods they cannot see
My goddess is quite visible to me
And to her she doesn't expect me for to pray
Though I will rest in her bosom one day.
The only god I know lives everywhere
And with her beauty nothing to compare
And people like the Seasons come and go
But she lives on the only god I know.
The only god I know Mother Nature is her name
And to her death and life are one and of the same
Her rivers flow on to the ocean shore
And she is one who will live forever more.
