Have you ever felt so depressed that you wish your life would end
Since of late your wife has left you and gone to live with your ex best friend
Never thought that this could happen to you and you feel betrayed and let down
And you feel the saddest of the sad souls of your side of the town.
Taken with her your primary school going son and daughter to a town one hundred miles away
And you feel devastated that in their future that you will not have much say
You always loved your children and you loved their mother your ex wife
But she fell in love with your friend and such are the ways of life.
In the pub I met him last week he's not the man he used to be
He looks sad faced and dejected, quiet and full of misery
He used to be so cheerful always in a happy mood
He seems such a different person and in silence he now brood.
From the poets and the songwriters of undying love so much we hear
But the man forsaken by love sits alone and drinks his beer
Time of course will be his healer he won't always feel this way
Happiness again he will know and he will find new love one day.
Have you ever felt so depressed that suicide you did contemplate
Like the poor fellow that I know who lost his wife to his ex mate
But love is not all beauty and like the thorns that guard the rose
It can cause a festering heartache but that's life I do suppose.
