Each time I listen to the news on radio I hear of more deaths in Iraq
And the occupying forces constantly under attack
From those the occupiers see as insurgents though others see it differently
An insurgent to one is a freedom fighter to another that's not how 'twould seem to be.
Each time I watch the six o clock news at evening on t v
The reality of man's inhumanity to his own kind is mostly what I see
And very few happy stories from the bigger World out there
In a World of so much religion human tolerance is rare.
Each time I buy a newspaper the headlines mostly bad
Governmental corruption, crime, famine, war and terrorism for any good news feel glad
Those who say I am a pessissimist may not be that far wrong
Yet about the death of innocence can one sing a happy song.
Each time I listen to the radio news of war and terror I mostly hear
And the flower of peace is withering or so it would appear
And thousands must grow poorer for every new millionaire
And Millions dying of hunger doesn't life seem so unfair.
