A Song For The Unsung

I sing for the fringe dwellers and I sing for the downtrod
And I sing for all of the people who are forsaken by god
And I sing for everybody who by sorrow have been stung
And I sing for the homeless and I sing for the unsung.

I sing for joy and laughter and for happiness as well
These gifts are rarer than diamonds and them one cannot buy or sell
And I sing for the ageing people who at heart still remain young
And I sing for the forgotten and I sing for the unsung.

I sing for the brave women forsaken by the gods
Victims of cruel men's anger they fight against all odds
And I sing for the dreamers who to fading dreams have clung
And I sing for love and passion and I sing for the unsung.

I sing for the once famous and for those who still know fame
And I sing for all wronged people who fight to clear their name
And I sing for the poor and starving with thirst of death on the tongue
And I sing for Mother Nature and I sing for the unsung.
