A diabetic she has just turned seventy and she is one you could not help but admire
She raised nine children five of them adopted and her story is a story to inspire
And she is what you'd call an unsung heroine for her there's never been an easy day
She never seeks the glory Maureen Binsol she goes through life in her own quiet way.
People like her don't ever make news headlines though people like her always have been rare
'Tis strange the way society judge achievers for heroes and heroines we tend to look elsewhere
And some of the people who from us don't live distant we may tend to look upon as ordinary
But the Maureen Binsol's of this world not many and she seems quite extraordinary to me.
We hear so much about the Queen of Britain far too much of her I have heard and seen
I know of women who are far more worthy the quiet achievers you know what I mean
Like the unsung heroines such as Maureen Binsol in humanity's cause her imprint she has made
Yet she never receives the recognition and in her honour never a parade.
And in her honour never a lavish party though her achievements I consider great
How come we look to the wealthy and the so called famous when we look for a name to celebrate
And ignore a heroine like Maureen Binsol she surely is a marvel after all
For one who gave home to five homeless children is surely one well worthy of recall.
