Physically I have known a far better day
And my friends from me too have drifted away
But no use in lamenting for what used to be
Since that would be of little help to me.
Of any success in life to you I cannot boast
But I am one who is luckier than most
I have never had to live in abject poverty
Or have been Homeless and State-less a poor refugee.
That we make our own luck in life may well be true
And the Karma we receive it is our due
And on Karma I am one who does believe
And from life I must accept what I receive.
An aging fellow in a coastal town
Were I a horse perhaps I'd be put down
From my old friends I've drifted far apart
Though for them I retain places in my heart.
