Thade Corkery

Without ever being aggressive or looking for fight
Thade Corkery often drank booze all day and all night
Yet he loved his children and he loved his wife
A man in his ways who was larger than life.

The man from Clarabeg by little Clara Hill
In his lifetime of alcohol did drink his fill
Yet he never caused a fight in Millstreet Town
Or in words he never put another down.

Some men when drunk in their ways are quite rough
And to punch someone in the face is their way of acting tough
For their type pride does come before a fall
Thade Corkery he was not that way at all.

He never called another out of name
And drunk or sober he was much the same
To drink lots of alcohol his only sin
But he was one who had his God Within.
