Some Of Us Struggle With Our Addictions

Some of us struggle with our addictions of such I am one who should know
As I am addicted to rhyming my rhymes in great numbers do grow
The stuff I pen not seen as poetry though call it whatever you may
Seven thousand three hundred and rising as I keep writing more every day
My rhymes do keep on growing in numbers as I just keep on penning more stuff
A fan of old style rhyming poetry what some might call a rhyming buff
In numbers my rhymes keep on growing yet the stuff I pen I cannot sell
Yet I'm not the first or I won't be the last one for to scribble reams of doggerel
Some people I know do say to me why do you keep scribbling rhyme
Since you've said all you would have to say it does seem a waste of your time?
To their point of view they are entitled and that surely does suit me fine
What they think of me is their business and their business cannot be mine
If I told you that I'd give up rhyming I would only be telling a lie
And perhaps my penning addiction will be with me until I die.
