She hear the angels piping in the breeze
And she see the fairies dancing on the trees
And she run to her mum to tell her what she's seen
But mum of course does not believe Maureen.
Her mother says to Maureen my dear child
Your imagination on you has been running wild
Your fairies and angels invisible to me
And you fantasize on what you hear and see.
A child's imagination is a marvellous thing
She see the fairies dance and hear the angels sing
And things come to life when Maureen visualize
And her stories real to her to us seem lies.
The World's a marvel in young children's eyes
They see the paradise beyond the skies
But as we age and as the years go by
The innocence of childhood in us die.
The four year old Maureen to her mother run to say
I see the fairies dance again today
But her mother says the fairies that you see
Will always be invisible to me.
