He Boasts

He boasts I am a millionaire and success suits me fine
And I eat in the best restaurants and drink the dearest wine,
In the posh restaurants and clubs may he long wine and dine
And though I only wish him well his values are not mine.

He boasts I drive a silver merc for which I paid cash down
And I live in a two storey house in the wealthy part of town
And with his business adventures he's always in the news
I wish him well in his success though I won't 'lick his shoes'.

He boasts my three children attend the top class private schools
And that in this modern World and times the power of money rules
But he is telling us of course what we already know
And may he live to a ripe old age and may his fortune grow.

He boasts his wife wears a new dress when they go out for tea
And that they only hob nob with the bigs of society
And that they are right there at the top of the high social tree
But that he's a multi millionaire is of little use to me.
