Good memories of what was through life we retain
And the past we re-visit in our thoughts again
In Duhallow farmyards in the Fall of the year
The boo of the threshing machines i fancy i hear.
In Autumn in Duhallow on every dry day
The boo of the threshing machines could be heard for miles away
Neighbor farmers helped each other for friendship not pay
Those days gone forever that does seem sad to say.
At the introduction of the combined harvester things changed very fast
And the boo of the threshing machine became a thing of the past
But life it goes on and few things one could name
Through the passage of time does remain as the same.
Yet in nostalgic moments the past comes to me
And men at work around the threshing machine i do see
And such pleasant memories are mine to enjoy
Of far away places when i was a boy.
