My Indian Neighbors

The man next door is one I do often see
He has a dark haired wife and a dark haired daughter of three
As neighbors we do live in harmony
Though they speak in a different tongue to me
Their Home-places as is mine from here are far away
He is from New Delhi and she is from Bombay
They do speak English though not very good
And my accent by them not easily understood
But they have the warmth of India in their hello smile
So lovely down to earth and free of guile
With raven hair and skin of chestnut brown
The nicest people in our side of the town
I see them often at least once a day
And our common bond is we are from far away.
