Many Who Have Been Looked Up To

Many who have been looked up to into disgrace did fall
The potential for evil it is within us all
There's none of us quite perfect though some more so than most
Yet to those with kindness and compassion none ever drink a toast
I know a very good man he does good deeds every day
And to help other people he goes out of his way
But most of those who know him of him can only say
It takes a silly person to help one without pay
Those with the selfish gene are thriving doing well financially
In a World where millions are homeless and hungry and in dire poverty
Many due to circumstance of birth of a fair go are denied
And the gap between the haves and the have nots is growing ever wide
Many who have been looked up to due to greed have turned to crime
And they are now in prison for wrongdoing serving time.
