The silage harvesters working in meadows far away
Cutting silage by the Town of Millstreet today
Fodder for the farmers livestock for Winter months ahead
When the cattle are confined to their wintering shed
The young birds chirping on tree and hedgerow
And in the rank rushes the male pheasant crow
A beautiful evening of sunshine and breeze
With a forecast high of twenty six degrees
The skylark is carolling in the blue sky
And the swallows in pursuit of flying insects do fly
Above the old fields in the warmth of Summertime
With beautiful June in her full bloom and prime
And the voice of the cuckoo familiar and clear
In what is a beautiful time of the year.
