Claraghlatlea between Millstreet Town and Ballydaly
Where mine was once a very well known face
But there today I feel I'd be a stranger
And changes occurring in my old Home-place.
So many people there now I would not know
From the old Town-land I've been too long away
The young locals would not know of or not know me
And those I did know showing their years in gray.
In Claraghatlea between Millstreet Town and Ballydaly
The silage harvesters are working in meadows today
The farmers for their cattle saving Winter fodder
Not much grass growth from November till early May.
To Claraghatlea the people come and go like Nature's Seasons
Not many there nowadays that I would know
But the old fields I loved would not have changed much
And in fancy I can hear the male pheasant crow.
In Claraghatlea between Millstreet Town and Ballydaly
It is a very pleasant time of year
Nature's butterflies are flitting in the sunshine
And the robin's song I fancy I do hear.
