Not Uncommon

Not uncommon in the Human World is the thing called jealousy
But it does seem to say the least a wasted energy
People who are jealous of others in every village, city and town
it is often said of jealousy it is admiration turned upside down
Jealousy is not a healthy energy down the centuries of time
It has led the jealous person to commit the foulest crime
It stems from immaturity some are slow to mentally grow
People inclined to jealousy I'd prefer not to know
It is just a human weakness we all do have some flaw
The near to perfect are quite rare since it is Nature's law
That humans have their weaknesses we flatter to deceive
And perfection is one thing we cannot hope to achieve
Not uncommon in the Human World is the thing known as jealousy
And the person you are jealous of is the person you would like to be.
